Lanserhof Tegernsee

Opened in 2014 above Lake Tegern in the Bavarian Alps, designed by Christoph Ingenhoven with landscape by Enzo Enea. It holds the World Spa Awards Best Medical Spa title for 2025.

The architecture is exceptional and — unusually in this category — subordinate to the programme rather than competing with it. Long horizontal lines, timber and glass, and a plan that keeps the mountains in view.

This is the largest and most comprehensive Lanserhof: more rooms, more programme categories, greater diagnostic depth, and the group's only Brain Health programme. Guests wanting the widest choice of specialist physicians come here.

The breadth is worth approaching deliberately. The diagnostic menu is extensive and priced accordingly, and guests who arrive without a clear sense of what they want investigated can spend a great deal deciding once they are there.

It is also the most expensive of the three by a clear margin. That premium buys breadth of investigation and a considerably better building; it does not buy a different cure, since the underlying method is identical across all three.
