Hotel Café Royal

Piccadilly, London, United Kingdom

Overnight stay

Hotel Café Royal stands on Regent Street in London's West End, where St James's, Mayfair and Soho meet; Café Royal has received guests for more than 160 years. Its spa and Wellness Club, Akasha, is open daily from 7.15am to 9pm, and the gym around the clock.

Facilities include an 18-metre lap pool and jacuzzi, a separate smaller pool used for Watsu hydrotherapy, a private Carrara-marble hammam, a sauna and a steam room, and nine treatment rooms, among them the double Akasha Suite. The gym covers more than 300 m², with Life Fitness equipment, Peloton bikes, rowing machines and free weights, and there are dedicated studios for yoga, boxing and stretching. Classes cover yoga, Pilates, boxing and functional training.

Treatments use Valmont, U Beauty, Therabody, Sundãri, MarocMaroc and Proverb products. Alongside the therapists, Akasha lists specialists for private consultations: a physiotherapist and acupuncturist, an osteopath, a cranial osteopath, a certified aquatic bodywork practitioner who gives Watsu sessions, and the head of fitness as personal trainer. Time Out named Akasha London's Best Hotel Spa 2025.

Spa days and a membership with year-round access to the pool, gym and heat rooms are sold alongside hotel stays. Guests aged 5 to 16 may use the spa under adult supervision; gym access and massages start at 16. The hotel suits travellers who want a central London base with pool, hammam and physical therapies in the building. Restaurants include Alex Dilling and Albert Adrià's Cakes & Bubbles.
