Amankora
Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, Gangtey & Bumthang, Bhutan
Opened in 2004 as the first luxury resort in Bhutan, a collection of five intimate lodges (only 72 suites total) spread across the kingdom's Himalayan valleys, designed as a journey between lodges rather than a single stay. Cedar-scented spas at each lodge specialise in Himalayan plant- and herb-based therapies, Bhutanese hot-stone baths, forest therapy walks and monk-led meditation sessions.
